Request a Free Foundation or Crawl Space Inspection
Fill out the form and we'll match you with a licensed, independent local contractor who can inspect your home and give you a written estimate. It's free and there's no obligation.

What happens after you submit
- We review your request and match it with up to three licensed, independent contractors who work in your area.
- A contractor will typically reach out by your preferred method to schedule a convenient time.
- The contractor visits your home, inspects the foundation and crawl space, and explains what they find.
- You receive a written estimate and decide whether, when and with whom to move forward.
What the contractor will look at
- The outside of the foundation — slab edge or stem wall — for cracks, rotation or settlement
- Grading, gutters, downspouts and anything sending water toward the house
- Interior drywall or plaster cracks, and how doors and windows open and close
- Floor elevations, measured with a level or manometer to map high and low spots
- On raised homes: posts, piers, beams, joists, vapor barrier, insulation and moisture in the crawl space
How to prepare
- Clear a path to the crawl space hatch (often in a closet floor or an outside wall vent)
- Note when you first noticed cracks or sticking doors, and whether they've changed
- Take a few photos of the problem areas — they're handy for comparing later
- Gather any past inspection reports, engineering letters or repair paperwork
- Write down your questions — our guide to choosing a foundation contractor has a good starter list
